It happens to almost everyone at some phase of their healing process. They just stop. The reasons are varied. Some people decide they don't like the way the supplements make them feel. Others suddenly forget to take their supplements or maybe they loose their original enthusiasm. In short, they hit a wall and choose not to continue. They stop trusting the healing process. Chances are that at some point along your healing path, it will happen to you also, if it hasn't already. This can happen immediately when a person first starts a new protocol or gradually as time passes while doing a protocol. We have seen this so many times in the 10 years that we have been practicing that we thought this was a good time to explain what is happening.
For those who operate from an intuitive place, it may be simply that the supplement is no longer need at that time. But for most people, they have "hit" the emotion that has embedded the imbalance in the first place. In order for any physical imbalance to take hold within the body there has to be a corresponding emotion to "hold" it in place. Over time, the imbalance and the emotion form this nice little package. Again, over time, the body begins to associate this package as normal. Although the body is affected by the imbalance/emotion, it does nothing about it. The energetic signal from this package is what we call a rigid signal. The rigid signal must be changed back into an alert signal so that the body can clear the imbalance effectively. In the process of whole body healing, we feel this energetic shifting in a variety of ways. It can be an emotion, a pain, a cleansing such as diarrhea, or just "feeling off." A person is then likely to think that something they are doing is wrong because "isn't this supposed to make me feel better, not worse?". Thus the wall is met. What is also being met is the most amazing opportunity to heal at a profoundly deep level. I can say for everyone reading this article, that there is a level of health within each of you that is beyond your wildest imagination!
So how to we get past this bump? The most powerful thing we can do is to know it exists. That is the purpose of this article. Knowledge gives us the power and trust to weather these times that can be challenging. The more we understand, the easier it will be, and the shorter these times will last. This is a wonderful time to get to know your self better. That's what this process is all about anyway. You will discover beliefs you didn't know existed, and these are the beliefs or memories that are holding the imbalance firmly in place. Your discomfort is always a gift and a marker pointing you to something that no longer serves you in your life.
Let's use an example to help us understand. Let's say you have heartburn. Perhaps you choose to do some sort of a digestive cleanse to rebalance that system. Then you move along in your protocol and do other supportive measures. And suddenly you don't feel well. Nothing seems to be working. You were feeling so much better and now you don't. What's wrong? Nothing at all. You have just hit your golden window of opportunity. Your whole being wants to become something different. Something it hasn't been perhaps since you were very young. At some level this is frightening. Your brain and nervous system, along with other systems of your body are used to this old way. It is comfortable. And the part of you that is comfortable does not want to change. This is the time when you are most likely to stop your healing process. Or switching practitioners Ð that is another masked way of avoiding the situation. Now, there are very good reasons to switch practitioners for sure. But if you are a person who jumps from practitioner to practitioner feeling that "no one can help me", it is simply that you have hit this wall. There is a part of you that is afraid of letting go of this imbalance because at one time it served you, otherwise you wouldn't have it in the first place. Perhaps it protected you from something. Very likely it made you rest when you wouldn't have otherwise.
So next time you don't like the way an herb or supplement makes you feel, ask yourself a couple of questions.
Is the product of good quality? (if not, your body may be trying to tell you something)
Did you buy this product from a place of fear? (Example: if you are taking a product "so you don't catch something", you may be taking something that you just don't need and may be throwing yourself off balance)
Did you buy the product because of the marketing of a particular product (Again, if so your body may be telling you something)
Answering the above questions is very important. So often we talk to clients that are taking way too many supplements. Nutritional supplements can be very confusing with so many companies making so many claims about the products they sell. Very well intentioned clients can end up buying into a lot of the advertising hype. This can add up to a lot of product. If you are clear on the above questions, are taking supplements that are appropriate for your health goals, and hopefully you have selected these products with the assistance of a knowledgeable person, then you know you are on the right path. And if you don't feel well with your current protocol contact your practitioner and most importantly take a look and see if you are standing at the threshold of a glorious opportunity. If you find that you are, be gentle with yourself. This journey into health is not about pushing and conquering but rather it is about self discovery at all levels.
